Legals

To legally marry in Australia you need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage form (NOIM) with your registered celebrant, at least 1 month before you can be married.

You also need to provide the following documents:

- Evidence of your date and place of birth - either a valid passport OR birth certificate

- Current photo ID - drivers license, proof of age card etc.

- If you've been married previously - a divorce certificate or death certificate of previous spouse

- All of your documents must be in English, if not you will need a NAATI accredited translation

You will need 2 witnesses over the age of 18 to be present, and if one or both partners cannot speak or understand English an interpretor must be in attendance.

After your ceremony I will register your marriage with Births, Deaths & Marriages QLD.

I'll be with you every step of the way to ensure the paperwork is in order and the whole process is as straight forward and easy as possible.
